Day 1
If I had to pick just one person to say that betrayed my trust, I couldn’t. It would have to be my parents. My mother always claimed she would be there, and she left me with a poor excuse of a father. I can’t put all the blame on her, though, it’s not like she meant to leave, but nonetheless, it’s hard to trust anyone that says they will be there now. Especially when they say they will always be there for you, life is too uncertain for this promise. When one person you love so dearly is ripped out of your life without control, it’s still hard to say they didn’t betray you. On the other hand, my father is still breathing and forever will be a disappointment. How can one person say they love their own flesh and blood and treat them like complete shit. He would look me in the eye and say he’d do anything for me, and when I ask for one simple request, he couldn’t even do it. I don’t know how you could lie to your own child’s face, because I can’t even do that to people I don’t know. I guess with all this being said, one day when I have kids, I will never lie to them.
